Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) can occur when the head suddenly hits an object and the internal forces produce damage to the brain, disrupting its normal function, with or without structural changes. TBI causes disability and death to almost all age groups. This review aimed to describe the biomechanics that were involved in brain injury of varying severity degrees and summarizes the neurochemical and metabolic changes to predict the effect of brain injury. There are various methods in biomechanics measurements for TBI, as well as computational models to understand several pathophysiology and effects of TBI that are very important to find better TBI treatments. Moreover, several neurochemical and metabolic changes in brain may explain the short and long-term effect of TBI to the brain. The various methods in biomechanics measurements for TBI are very important to find better treatments.

It has been found that natural microorganism have a siginificant role in the production and development of new medicines. The present study aimed to evaluat biotransformation of atropine, 4-hydroxy coumarin, 8-hydroxy quinoline, indole and industrially compound (penicillin G), arrive in the human body, by some natural microorganism (Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6051, Lactobacillus acidophilus ATCC 314, Mycobacterium Bovis (BCG), Saccharomyces cerevisiae ATCC 5052, and Candida albicans ATCC 10231), for the first time. The best values for the concentration and required times were evaluated for each metabolites in microbioal biotransformation process. The progress of the formation of the metabolites were monitored by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method. Obtained results showed that only indole, atropine, and 4-hydroxy coumarin could be biotransformed by Candida albicans ATCC 10231, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae ATCC 5052, respectively.

COVID-19 infection is still widespread around the world. It has been demonstrated that albumin is a biomarker in COVID-19 diagnosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between blood albumin and clinical status of COVID-19 patients. In our study, patients older than 18 years admitted to a hospital in Yazd with a positive PCR test participated. Related data was analyzed by SPSS software. 34.2 % of the men with lower than normal albumin levels needed to be admitted to the ICU. Also, 32.8 % of the women with lower than normal albumin levels needed to be admitted to the ICU. The results of the present study showed that the patients with lower serum albumin needed to be admitted to the ICU more than other patients.

Resumption of nuclear maturation and cytoplasmic changes occur during in vitro maturation. In vitro maturation of the egg provides a stage called Metaphase II (MII) that is required for in vitro fertilization. This study aimed to investigate the effect of replacing Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) with plant extract that 5 groups were used. The null group, which consisted only of oocytes, the control group, which used Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) and FSH, the 3 experimental groups, in which different doses of Ajuga L. extract were substituted for FSH. Ajuga extract with appropriate dose increased the prevalence of Germinal Vesicle Degradation (GVBD), growth rate and maturity of immature mouse oocytes to MII stage.

Covid-19 patients have coagulation complications resulting in poor prognosis. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the prevalence of coagulation disorders in patients with Covid-19 admitted to Shahid Sadoughi Hospital in Yazd. This study was a cross-sectional study that all patients admitted with a diagnosis of Covid-19 from the beginning of February 2020 to the end of April 2020 were examined for the frequency of coagulation dysfunctions. A total of 441 patients with Covid-19 were included in the study with a mean age of 55.4 years that 47.8 %, 25.6 % and 6.8 % had impaired Prothrombin Time (PT), Partial Thromboplastin Time (PTT) and International Normalized Ratio (INR), respectively.

Coronavirus is a non-segmented virus related to Coronaviridae family with an envelope and RNA that has a huge positive-sense single-stranded genome. The causative agent of COVID-19, severe acute respiratory coronavirus syndrome-2 (SARS-CoV-2) first appeared in China in 2019. The role of these viruses in pneumonia has greatly improved through molecular techniques. The virus structural proteins, viral replication factors, viral endocytosis process and enzymes are the key targets for designing drugs against COVID-19. This review considered the main molecular and cellular targets as well as peptide-based and pharmaceutical treatments for COVID-19 aiming for a better design of drugs against viruses with the best insights on key factors in this infection.
