In this study, angiogenesis inducers and inhibitors and some important drugs are introduced. Abnormal angiogenesis can occur if the balance between inhibitory and inducible factors disappears. Angiogenesis inducers include EGF, FGF2, TGF-β, VEGF, G-CSF, HGF, TGF-α, IL-8, TNF-α and angiogenesis inhibitors such as endostatin, interleukin, prolactin, interferons, IL-1, IL-12, angiostatin, and IL-18. On the other hand, many drugs can affect these signaling pathways.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the resistance pattern and susceptibility of some antibiotics to K. pneumoniae isolated from urinary tract infections. In this descriptive cross-sectional study, 165 K. pneumoniae strains were collected from Tabriz hospitals during six months and were identified by standard laboratory tests in a dedicated environment. Antibiotic resistance assay was performed by disk diffusion method. The highest resistance of K. pneumoniae isolates to tetracycline antibiotics (71.5 %), ciprofloxacin (56.9 %) and ceftriaxone (41.8 %) and the highest sensitivity to gentamicin (87.9 %), imipenem (85.5 %) and Cefepime (81.8 %) obtained. With increasing prevalence of antibiotic resistance, early detection of antibiotic resistant strain is necessary to select appropriate treatment and prevent spread of antibiotic resistance.

In this study, causal-comparative research method was used. The study population was hospital staff of Bojnourd in North Khorasan in 2018 and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) and Burnout Questionnaire were used for collecting data. The results showed that hospital staff were at greater risk of occupational stresses such as shift work, exposure to unpredictable situations and mental health problems. Rotating shift work was correlated with decreased general health, burnout, decreased job satisfaction, and illness. According this study can be suggested to conduct periodic monitoring of the mental health of medical staff, also, group counseling and individual counseling can be helpful in reducing job burnout and stress.

Investigating interaction between IL-17A, IL-17E, TNF-α and rs3783605 and its effect on VCAM-1 promoter activity in the human umbilical vein endothelial cells

The present study is created to determine the effect of rs3783605 and its interaction with IL-17A, IL-17E and TNF-α cytokines on the action of VCAM-1 gene promoter in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC). Recent research shows that IL-17A and TNF-α cytokines have main effect on VCAM-1 expression, and IL-17E as a proinflammatory ligand for IL-17 receptor homolog IL-17Rh1 might also partake in this process. Two vectors with altered rs3783605 alleles are fabricated to express the GFP. Unlike the other two cytokines, HUVECs stimulated with TNF-α alone show an increase of expression. The stimulation with IL-17A in addition to TNF-α show an increase of expression in G allele vector, while the stimulation with IL-17E in addition to TNF-α led to an increased expression in the cells containing an allele. The stimulation by IL-17A in addition to IL-17E led to decrease of expression in the cells containing G allele and stimulation with three cytokines simultaneously showed a decrease of expression in G allele vector.

Insights into the evolutionary origin of Mycoplasma species

Mycoplasma species are cell wall deficient intracellular microorganisms that are related to respiratory and urogenital infections in human being. In this study, we are providing insights into the Mycoplasma evolutionary origin based on the taxonomical characterization of such microorganism and also searching for homology sequences of the bacterial cell wall biosynthetic proteins in Mycoplasma species using bioinformatics approach. Our results indicated that the ancestor of Mycoplasma is eubacteria. In addition, the presence of homologous proteins to the teichoic acids biosynthetic proteins in Mycoplasma strongly suggests that Mycoplasma was originally a Gram-positive bacterium and had lost the cell wall as a part of the adaptation mechanism to be intracellular parasite.
